Estimates win jobs when the customer can see exactly what they are buying. Describe every line of work with the quantity and the unit: "1,200 sq ft blown insulation, R-38" beats "insulation work" every time. Give the price a shelf life so the customer has a reason to decide. Spell out your terms: the deposit, the schedule, what the warranty covers, and just as important, what the job does not include. And leave a signature line, because a signed estimate is a commitment, and an unsigned one is a wish.
Speed matters more than most contractors think. The first professional bid a homeowner receives usually frames the whole decision. If your estimate shows up two days after the walkthrough, you are negotiating against a competitor who got there first.
This template is free forever and it does the job. But if you would rather talk than type, SayEstimate turns a spoken description of the job into a priced, professional estimate using your own rates. The customer signs on their phone and can pay a deposit on the spot. Built by a working insulation contractor who got tired of blank templates at 9pm.
